I've never participated in a daily art challenge before, and I didn't expect it to be so difficult. I generally have a daily practice habit anyways but there isn't an expectation of finishing something, just writing or drawing and thinking about the project I am working on that day. For me creating the idea and text wasn't too hard, it was doing all of the publishing work that was difficult. For example I would draw my zine, but then filming it and posting it to Instagram would take almost as long as making the zine. I had only been making zines for a few months at that point (and I haven't even been doing this a year yet). What energized me and kept me going was the creative community around me. Looking at all the posts under the zinetober hashtag was so much fun! And there were so many each day that I could barely read them all (but in a good way not an overwhelming way) like going into a large candy store. I made several good friends and joined a discord group for the first time.
Exhaustion doesn't begin to describe how I felt when I was finished. Thank goodness I had a previously scheduled week of vacation at the end of October to finish up. It definitely wasn't a restful vacation...
